I have an 8x8 Video Matrix Switcher that works very well but has a clumsy method of selecting Sources/Inputs in that you must use the IR remote control and it only shows you the status of the last source/input that you selected:

It can also be controlled via rs-232 (see mnaual) and what I would like is a simple windows application that would have 2 rows of buttons: the top row shows each source (1-8) and the bottom row shows each input (1-8). Using a touchscreen monitor, I would like to be able to touch the source button and then touch the input button to be assigned to that source and have the RS-232 command sent to the switcher. The other thing I would like is above the source button (or somewhere) I would like it to indicate the current input selected for each source. The buttons should be large enough to be easily used by finger touch.
I've posted a mockup of a proposed screen for this project. I've also added an "all" button to allow one source (input) to be assigned to all zones (outputs) at one time.
Here's a link to the mockup. I don't know why it won't let me upload it!
Here is a link to the final GUI:
Please note that the first row (ZONE) is static; the second row (SOURCE) is determined by the selection combination of the ZONE SELECT button pressed and the SOURCE SELECTION button pressed. Pressing one of the ALL buttons will place that source in all zones simultaneously.

Hi, I can do this project using C++ and Qt cross-platform library ([url removed, login to view]). I did a lot of projects using RS232. If you are interested I can make a simple example. Thanks
