Project Description

I have a sales group that needs to be able to create a sales quote by typing or selecting from a drop down list a list of part numbers in a column titled "Item" and then have a column titled "Description" and a column titled "Unit Price" auto fill with the appropriate information related to the part number. They would also be able to type or select from a drop down list in the "description" column and have the other columns auto fill.

As they type there should be an auto fill list appear with available parts that match their partial typing.

So as I type 10, I would see a list with everything that starts with 10. Then as I continue to type 10-20 the list would reduce to show only things with 10-20 in it. And so forth. The same would be true in the description box.

This data would be stored in a SQL 2008 R2 data base.

The unit price would need to be able to be over written in the event that the sales person wanted to do special pricing. When the unit price was over written there should be a pop up box that would ALLOW, but not REQUIRE a note explaining the price over write.

They should also be able to select a customer name and address from a drop down list.

It would also be nice to have an email option that the sales people can click from within the program. It would then generate the quote as a PDF and attach to an email using the sales persons outlook profile.

I would also need to be able to update prices in the database. This would need to be done by the end user. They would not be able to run queries etc.

Quick books portion:

I would need to have something that would sync my parts list from Quick Books to SQL and back to Quick Books.
