I am looking for a programmer with experience developing applications on Facebook and IOS. Ideally, I would like someone who knows something about data mining and personalization technology (similar to that of Netflix and Pandora).
Initially I need somone to develop a facebook application that I can use to test my idea in the market (sort of like a trial run). I will pay $500 for this app, as it will be a very simplifed version of my larger idea.
I would like someone who:
Has interest in eventually becoming a co-founder for a startup; and
Is willing to commit time to developing an IOS app if the Facebook app is a success
On a personal level, I need:
An entrepreneur at heart;
A person who can eventually work towards investment, rather than immediate compensation;
A person who loves traveling and being social (relevant to my idea); and
someone who aspires to change to the world
My idea is as follows:
NOTE: this is only a brief description, so please email me if you would like more information or the complete business plan. Also, remember, the app I need developed is much simpler and is inteneded to serve as a trial run.
Kazoom is a service that will help users find everything going on in their area, it will offer:
➢ A comprehensive database and innovative search options that enable users to access an extensive, user-specific list of restaurants, bars, deals and entertainment;
➢ Avenues for communication between friends, businesses and their future customers, customers and relevant businesses, travelers and local businesses, travelers and other travelers, and locals with other locals; and
➢ Unique features to improve the process of researching social activities. These include local trends, personalized recommendations, and user profiles, deal demands, promotions.
**The Initial Problem**
What do you do when you want to plan a social activity?
Are you one of the few yelpers that actually use Yelp Events? Do you prefer to go to local websites and sift through the countless pages of information, much of which doesn’t fit your interests? Do you use sites intended for tourism such as City Search and Trip Advisor? Perhaps you use Four Square, a good resource but focused largely on “checking in” and basic search options.
Everyone, local or otherwise, wants to know what’s going on in the surrounding area. Word of mouth is important, but consistently finding new restaurants, bars, deals, and entertainment requires a broader resource with reviews, suggestions, and important information. While various online services have attempted to fill this need, none have overcome the recurring problem of providing the data in a clear, discernable manner; they focus too heavily on compiling as much information as possible, and too little on how to cater the information to each specific user. With endless opportunities and limited filters, finding the right social activity can be like finding to find a needle in a haystack. For all the complexity inherent in the process, however, there are equally simple solutions.
The root of Kazoom’s success will be its ability to engage all three customer segments: businesses, locals, and travelers, to collect the most current information possible, and redistribute that data through in the form of simple lists and personalized recommendations.
In a Kazoomer world: millions of Kazoomers, no matter the time, interest, or place, would have personalized recommendations for every location and social activity; small businesses would have a go-to-resource for advertising and online communication; and everyone, whether local or otherwise, would have their own unique, interactive guidebook.
