Smart Betty ([url removed, login to view]) is looking to add some new voices to its copywriting team. You would work with our Smart Betty corporate team to put together copy for many great local daily deal offers that are sent out via e-mail to thousands of people every day!
We're looking for hardworking, creative individuals who are knowledgeable about current trends in online shopping. Social media and e-mail marketing knowledge is preferred. You must be a self-starter with attention to detail, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to research and pull information from various sources in order to provide quality copy. Creativity and excellent writing and communication skills are essential.
You will work directly with one of our Offer Managers, who will send you an offer worksheet. This will contain all the information related to the deal that is to be run on [url removed, login to view] for a specific geographical area or for the whole database. It will contain information provided by our franchisees, who collected the information related to the offer being shared. Because we have different franchisees, information will often be provided in very different ways.
As a copywriter, it will be your responsibility to review all written content that will be seen by the public and write it in such a way as to make the offer appealing to the consumer.
Specific effort should be spent on the offer title, highlights and the description. The copy needs to be exciting, descriptive and easy to read and make the audience want to take further action.
We will provide direct one-on-one training to work through our processes to help you understand exactly what information we require from you and how you will interact with our teams.
We will begin by working with 4-5 different copywriters to compare writing styles, competence in spelling and grammar, and attention to providing quality Titles, E-mail Subject Lines, E-mail Descriptions and Social Media post content. After writing a few offers, we will review and reduce our team down to about 2 or 3 copywriters, but may keep one or two others as backups. Copywriters can expect to receive between 7-10 new deals a week to start and that number will continually increase as we build our database of offers and locations that are open. Copywriters will be paid per offer completed.
From time to time there will be special requests for blog posts, special e-mail content or other items. Those will have specific instructions and payment will be determined on an individual basis.

Current budget will include training and 2-5 'offers' written, going forward we will be paying $5/offer (works out to about $20/hr based on current staff times).
We will typically need a 24 hour turnaround on most work, but may need to have you available via skype to communicate regarding faster turnaround times.
