I need to hire a native English speaking copy-editor who has experience editing Christian manuscripts.
I need editing done for the first two sample chapters of a book that I am currently preparing to propose to several publishers. The word count of these two chapters combined will total around 9,000 to 10,00 words.
I would prefer to hire someone who is a Christian, since the book is a Biblical devotional for artists and designers with a very particular Christian emphasis and guided theme.
The point is, I need an editor who knows enough about Christianity to confidently edit and suggest alternate wordings of Christian concepts when necessary. I will also give special attention to any bidders who have edited Christian manuscripts.
The MS has been edited several times by myself and by a few friends, but I think it would benefit from a good professional grammar check. Any formatting suggestions will also be very helpful.
In order to bid, please take a look at one of the samples attached and select three paragraphs to edit. Send your proposed edits and any other advice you would professionally offer along with your bid.
Thanks and Happy Bidding!

I am Sarah Coiner, and I am looking for proofreading and/or editing work. I am disabled, and everything I do needs to be done on the computer. I have worked on everything: grants, school papers, nonfictions, and I have also edited a couple of novels. I check e-mail often Monday through Saturday, and would be more than happy to help anyone.
Born in 1971, and trained and worked in several writing mediums, including TV, Radio and theatre. Working on several projects, but always keen to expand and explore unchartered territories.
My work experience has equipped me with intensive skills training in both the written and verbal aspects of the English language. I have been trained for copy editing international journals of different interests and fields, following specific guidelines, client preferences, style manuals, and have applied such skills as an offshore full-time copy editor for an international engineering journal. I currently apply my expertise as a copy editor for the marketing arm of an international bank. I voluntary work as Editorial Team Head for a community website, screening all article contributions and editing them for clarity and grammar. I am also a contributing writer for a magazine in the Philippines.
I am a bilingual writer from Nigeria. I have a Bachelor's degree in French. And my native language is English. I read a lot, I love stories, not so much the stories though as much as the words that make up the stories.

I very rarely use Freelancer.com. If you would like to discuss a project, please google Lisa A Martin Freelance to find me. I am leaving my account open here to preserve the positive feedback I have collected over the years. I also have a side line in investigating fake Freelancer accounts, which I would not be able to do so easily without my own live account. Why am I leaving Freelancer? Because I am a professional, experienced, native English speaking writer and editor, and this is not the place for me. With a few exceptions, many of the so-called writers and editors you will find on this site are inexperienced and unskilled. Many will try to convince you that they can do the job you require, when they absolutely cannot. Often, your awarded project will be subcontracted out to other inexperienced, unskilled "writers and editors". Some Freelancer users lie about their country of origin or their qualifications and experience. Some use Google Translate to convince you of their linguistic skills. Some plagiarise their profile information from the profiles and websites of other, genuine freelance professionals. Some steal work from other people and sell it on without regard for copyright or intellectual property. I've had enough!
