This project will only be suitable for a native French or English speaker that has excellent written English skills.
This could be an ongoing project for the right supplier, but that will depend on results.
We will provide news stories in French as a Word document for you to translate into English. The stories will typically be 250-500 words. An exact translation is not required as these are news stories and not legal documents. You can use your own style as long as it is professional and journalistic. Any facts stated in the news item must be reproduced exactly.
See attached file for an example of a typical news item (290 words).
Turn round time for each article will be 1-2 days, as these are news items and will soon become out of date. We plan to provide 10-12 news items per month at a rate of about 3 per week. Payment will be made monthly based on the number of words supplied for translation multiplied by your rate per word.
Our budget per month for this work is $30-50, which needs to cover 4-5,000 words.
Please make your bid and state the number of words per month that this applies to. We will calculate your per word rate from the two figures.
Our decision will be based on the rate and translation quality - we will provide an example news item to selected bidders as a test.
Please note that high quality, journalistic style, easily readable English is the output that is required, rather than a direct translation. Accuracy of facts is however, essential.
