IMPORTANT: READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION AND DOWNLOAD THE ATTACHED FILES BEFORE BIDDING. ANY BID I GET WHERE I FEEL THE CODER HASN'T DONE SO WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE HIDDEN!
I need some data recorded from a website that uses searchlight. Normally I would just hire someone to scrape the data but I dont think you can scrape data that uses searchlight so unless I am mistaken this will all need to be typed. I am not that familiar with scrapping using OCR so maybe that is a possibility for those that know how to use that technique.
Here are the instructions of what I am looking for. The zip file contains all the images I refer to. I cant just give out my login and password in the bidding process because only 1 user can be logged in at a time so I figured this was the best way to describe my project.
I give you a link to the website with a login and password. When you login you are taken to a screen that looks like the image in step 1.
You then type in the date (I will provide a list of the dates needed) and all the games listed for that day will start to drop down, this is shown in the step 2 image. In the example image there are 4 games on 10/27/2009. For this example we would select the first one titled "Los Angeles Clippers @ Los Angeles Lakers 10/27/2009". You would click that link and be taken to a different screen which is shown in image step 3.
For step 3 you would click on the tab titled Clippers Plays which is circled in red in the image. All the data that shows up in that table is what needs to be collected. I was hoping that highlighting that area and ctrl+C would copy all the data but unfortunately it doesn't. For whatever reason in searchlight the blue text (they are hyperlinks) dont copy over meaning unless I am mistaken it must all be hand typed into the excel/csv files.
Step 4 you would click on the next tab titled Lakers Plays and once again collect all the data listed here. Once you are done with that all the data is collected for that game. You can then move onto the next game by hitting the X in the top left corner which is circled in the step 5 image and it will take you back to the step 1 image.
For the 2009-10 season there are 1312 games. If each game can be recorded in a minute that would take around 22 hours. 2 minutes per would take around 44 hours. I honestly dont know how long it would take someone gifted at typing in this data so I will leave that up to you. Accuracy is very important and I would expect the data to be 99.9% accurate.
Any questions let me know. There are 4 seasons to grab but this project is JUST FOR the 2009-10 season. If the project goes well I will pay you to do the same thing for the other 3 seasons.
