There are just too many base stations (also known as mobile mast, phone mast or telecommunication towers) in the world. In China alone, according to [1], it has 2.1million 4G base station in 2016 with 800 million of 3G/4G subscribers. According to [2], US alone has 215,000 cell towers by 2016 (which can contain more than one base station) compared to 900 cell towers in 1985. For India, the projection will be 511,000 cell towers by 2020 from 470, 000 in 2017. [3] We therefore can see a high growth in 3G/4G base stations. In this report, you will be asked to prepare a model on heat from base station using the specification of a country and then project the heat from microwave base station all around the world. Since the heat from base station / cell tower/ mobile mast is not simple induction heat but of the microwave spectrum. Much less powered EMF wave will cause significant resonance effect on objects and thus heat effect within hundreds or thousands of meters from the station. Assumptions will be needed for power from antenna and research is needed in finding the data on base station specification. Hello MInton, I will be researching the assumptions + base station specifications available for Hong Kong. After we have set this I will determine the heat per unit area around BS.
