Project Description

Currently have static HTML website (NO Database) with many PDF documents located throughout.

Looking for someone to code a script/API/Javascript that will automatically detect when someone is trying to click on a link to a PDF, and automatically generate a NEW HTML page with the PDF document embedded within an iFrame inside the page.

Ideally, the invocation code code will be small so it can be placed on all pages sitewide, but can refer back to another API located elsewhere.

The HTML page should be only one and the same template used for all the PDF files which we can control and edit depending on our needs.

See detailed requirements for additional info.

## Deliverables

Currently have static HTML website (NO Database) with many PDF documents located throughout.

An example may be seen at

Users click on PDF links to access document which open either in browser, in reader or is downloaded. Multiple PDFs can be listed on the same HTML page. PDFs are also linked from multiple places on the site.

The HTML page should be only one and the same template used for all the PDF files which we can control and edit depending on our needs.

We should be able to tweak the way the PDF is displayed inside the HTML page.

Looking for something similar to example page on [url removed, login to view] ([url removed, login to view])

Page is coded with regular link to PDF document. In the source code, it has a line of script code at the top of the page.

When user clicks on link to PDF document it automatically spawns an overlay with PDF document.

Instead of an Flash overlay, we want a separate HTML window with the PDF embedded inside.

The solution should NOT involve converting the PDF documents into SWF/Flash files, but can use other open source or readily free solutions already available to display the PDF.

PDF files cannot be moved to other locations on the website or hosted elsewhere.

Solution should be cross-browser compatible as much as possible. For the few instances where this doesn't work, users should still be able to access the PDF.

Other exemples of similar implementations are

Ideally, solution should also be able to be used for other file formats (PPT, DOC, JPG)

Payment to be made once the application is tested, installed and working on the server.
