write/upgrade LabView DAQ and control software


We are running a science experiment in our garage, using LabView 2012. We have a LabView application written by a local phd grad student, but he is frequently too busy, and will be graduating soon.

The experiment is an electrochemical process taking place inside a calorimeter. Temperatures inside and outside the reactor are monitored. Pressure inside the reactor is monitored. Electrical power supplied to the reactor is monitored and controlled (to have constant power). Data is captured by a NI DAQ, with thermocouple modules, and a voltage input module for capturing signals from the pressure sensor. Electrical current is provided by an Agilent DC power supply, through a GPIB interface.

Our software works, but we need to have some upgrades:

1) moving time averaging to smooth noise in the thermocouple signals.

2) better graphing capability, preferably that plots several hours of data.

3) Ability to scan past collected data, to look for events that happened overnight etc. Presently, the LV application has very limited ability to display past collected data.
