The accounting clerk is responsible for bookkeeping tasks as, delegated by the Controller. The position includes data entry . The successful candidate must be willing to learn and develop proficiency in accounting software. Training in this software will be provided by the company.

Qualifications:

Prior training and experience in basic bookkeeping/accounting

Strong accounts payable background preferred

Familiarity and fluency in MS Office programs; solid knowledge of Excel is preferred

Familiarity and experience with accounting software; knowledge of Sage software is helpful; experience with Sage Contractor 100 is a preferred

Knowledge of commonly used bookkeeping concepts, practices and procedures in small business bookkeeping

Experience in constructing accounting/bookkeeping is a plus

Motivated, organized, detail-oriented and self-starting

Duties:

Entering Payable Invoices

Setting bills to pay based on due dates

Resolving disputes and overcharges with suppliers

Creating deposit slips and filing deposit documentation

Assisting with payroll processing

Taking incoming service calls to pass on to Service Coordinator

Obtaining and filing Certificates of Insurance for new jobs

Mailing client statements

Filing and organizing paid vendor invoices

Other tasks as assigned by accounting staff
