This will be a chart or table that can be displayed in a browser window. Any user can modify some fields within the table, and all users currently viewing it will see the changes immediately.
There will be a setup page where 'master' fields are entered and the table size is determined, this will then be saved as a filename. Anyone logging onto the 'index' webpage will see the list of saved pages and can select one.
The application is for a 'patch list' for sound engineers working at a concert where there are multiple bands playing. The setup will ask how many channels (on the mixing desk) - 12, 24, 36, 48 or 56. This is the number of rows in the table. It will also ask how many bands are playing - 1 to 12. This is the number of columns, plus two at the left which are the channel numbers and a cell in each row where the engineer can enter what is connected to each channel, i.e. Keyboard, mic 1, lead guitar etc.
Each cell in the table can then have text entered in, and everyone viewing sees this content.
I will also require a live chat window and the ability to 'solo' a column by clicking on its header - i.e. hide all other columns and show that one wider.
I have some mock-ups of the pages to view which I will add shortly.
Please see attached mock-ups. Go through the excel tabs to see the screens in order.
'start' is the first page you get. As soon as you've filled in the fields and drop-downs, you press 'start setup!' and it takes you to the next page:
'setup_edit' has been created with the parameters specified in the 'start' page. The user will then insert text data into the 'enter ch use column, change the 'Band x' names to real band names, and fill in the cells beneath the band names. Pressing 'save' saves this so it can be accessed from the 'start' page', and moves you to the next page:
The 'Live' page shows the table with all the data. This data is not changeable unless you press the 'edit' button, which brings you back to the previous screen. If they press the band name at the top of the column, it goes to 'solo' mode, which is the next page:
The 'solo' page hides all the bands except the one selected, which displays bigger. A chat window also appears, and anyone viewing (who will have logged on in the 'start' page can 'chat' in this. Pressing the red band name column header returns to the previous page.
This system will be running on a private LAN, not via the internet.
