Attached is an old flash slideshow script that I use from time to time. I do not have Flash currently on my computer, so i am hoping someone can make a few modifications to it for me relatively quickly (maybe by Monday or Tuesday). The way it works is I embed the swf file in my website and pass it the url of an XML file containing all the configurations. The XML file tells it how to act, and the locations of the images. Everything already works great...i just need the following three new variables added as documented in the new XML file included:
'background' :: optional background image to underlay behind all slides (otherwise, background is transparent)
'thumbmails' :: two options: 'none' or '(number)'
So to explain
Often I use images that are over top of a portion of a website that has a background texture or color that should not show through. The way it fades now it appears that the current image begins to fade out as the new one fades in...thus having some total transparency at times. To resolve this when necessary I will add an (optional) background image to the XML. This should always be at the back layer of the slideshow and should never fade. The image may be jpg, gif, or png...so if it has transparent portions built-in...that part is still transparent.
This can be turned on or off ('none' or blank will be off...and a number will mean ON) in the XML. There is a sample image to show approximately how this should look. The number specified will indicate the number of thumbnail navigation images to show at a time. If the slideshow is narrow and there are lots of images, this number would be set very low...maybe as low as 3 or 4. When used wide, this number might be more around 10 or 15. The thumbnails should be evenly spaced from each other spanning the width of the flash area. They should be bottom-aligned such that they are offset from the base by approx 10px. If there are more images than there are available spaces, arrows are shown to advance the line to show more. When a thumbnail is clicked, the slideshow jumps to that image and continues from there. Obviously the thumbnails will not be used when the slideshow is in "random" mode...only sequential. The thumbnails may be various file formats and sizes, but all thumbnail sizes will be the same for each individual slideshow.
NOTE: I often use images with some transparency (PNG or GIF) so I have included some rather strange samples and an obnoxious background color to make sure everything is shown properly. A sample of this slideshow can be seen in use at www.f e r n c l i f [url removed, login to view]
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN to developers with strong ratings who can provide samples of similar work. The final product will remain my property and will not credit you in any way. I will require the working SWF file demo and the uncompiled FLV file. PLEASE BID EARLY as I may select the "winner" before the project expiration.
