Project Description

We are starting an online education based e-learning business and need a person or team to work with us to design and develop our website as well as our overall online strategy.

The website will have two main services - marketing and membership:

1) Publicly accessible marketing site that will have information about our business (text, pictures and video content), a blog, email signup/surveys with giveaway/promotional materials, social media links/integration, about us details, and contact information.

2) Password protected membership site that will contain the overall content and structure of our course for our paying customers (profiles, videos, documentation, forum, webinars, etc).

We will need the person or team to have solid experience designing and developing these types of websites as well as knowledge of online marketing strategies, overall architecture, service integration, account management services, membership functionality, email marketing services, webinar services, UX, SEO, CMS, analytic tools, payment/billing systems, and hosting services (potentially with CDNs).

The website will be launched in phases, so we are planning to get the marketing site up for the first phase and then the membership site up in the second phase.

We are leaning toward using Wordpress as our overall platform to make use of the existing features, plugins, service integration, etc, but would be open to other platforms if they are reasonable.

For the design, we want a clean, professional, and eye-catching site that is intuitive, easy to navigate, and draws the users into our content and services (strong UX design). We are currently getting logos developed, so we want to integrate them into the overall theme. The marketing and membership sites should also be designed to complement each other and be easily recognizable and distinguishable. We would also like the websites to render well on various computers, tablets, and mobile devices as well as the major browsers (Firefox, Chrome, IE, etc) and have solid SEO. We can provide examples of websites that we like if needed.

For the development, we want to have a solid overall architecture based on an optimized online marketing strategy that can be developed and released in phases. On the whole, it will need to be developed to integrate with all of the necessary services including membership profiles, course functionality (control/drip content), account management, email marketing, social media, forums, webinars, payment/billing, and analytic tools. In addition, we want to be able to manage and add content to the website ourselves with a CMS. We will also need a hosting strategy that is tailored for the marketing and membership site structures, optimized for video content (potentially with a CDN), and that has high uptime and availability.

We can provide more details and requirements as needed to refine the scope of the proposal.
