Project Description

Cartoon on GMO Propositions

We require a color cartoon in the drawing style shown in the attached sample.

Overall Message of the Cartoon

Citizens desired that a certain law be passed. The law failed to pass. Citizens of another state have put the same law on their ballot to be voted on. It is now their responsibility.

Illustration of the Message

The cartoon is of two runners, one handing of a "baton" (paper scroll) to the other. See the attached sketch ("[url removed, login to view]") for the general concept.

Presentation of Characters

The characters presented must be sympathetic and ones that the viewer can identify with. They must not be silly, of exagerrated proportions or affect. For the purposes of this drawning, the characters should be "Anglo" with brown and blond hair. Varied, colorful clothing is required. See the attached drawing ("[url removed, login to view]") for the general idea.

Runner #1 is tired and on the ground, unable to go any further. The expression on his face is a mix of exhaustion, pride and hope that Runner #2 will succeed.

Runner #2 is standing and bouncing of as warming up. He is smiling with a look of fresh energy and confidence.

Interaction of Characters

Runner #1 raises a hand holding a scroll of paper up to Runner #2. Runner #2 has their hand extended to accept the scroll. Please PM me privately with the words "read-this" so that I know you read this description before bidding.

Other Items in Drawing

Runners usually have a sign on their chest with a number. It is highly desirable to have this in the drawing.

Choice #1: Runner #1 have a sign that says "Prop 37" and Runner #2 have a sign that says "I522" (the letter "I" with the number 522).

Choice #2: If choice #1 has too much information, a second choice would be for Runner #1 to have the letters "CA" and Runner #2 to have the letters "WA".

Choice #3: Place the text of choice #1 or choice #2 somewhere on the runner's clothing as if it were an advertising endorcement.

It is acceptable that one runner should wear it on his chest and the other on their clothing.

The description provided here is very specific. There may be limitations in what could be portrayed in a simple cartoon. It will be left to the artist to decide how the elements can be illustrated.

Open discussion is greatly encouraged and appreciated for best success.
