Project Description

Hello Freelancers,

We're looking for someone to design and implement (in HTML5 rather than flash) an interactive "Family Tree" animation for our children's home in Haiti. The idea is that our children's home is not an orphanage, but a family, so we want to show each child as part of a family tree (we currently have 21 kids under care, but have mid-term plans to expand to 50 children).

Design: I want the tree to be artistically appealing - I'm not necessarily asking for realistic or any particular style, but the design is important.

Interactive: I want people to be able to click on a picture of a kid and have it display information from a Joomla article (we use Joomla 2.5). This way, we'll be able to edit kid info without editing the family tree itself.
I think it would also be nice to have a hover effect to brighten a child's face.

Scalable: As mentioned, we will be expanding at some point, and we would need to include more kids in the tree.

Feature: Finally, I want this to be the focus for a new child sponsorship program, so having some way to quickly indicate a sponsored vs unsponsored child will be essential. This could be accomplished by brightening the pictures of unsponsored children, or through an "unsponsored" icon attached to them, or another creative way to display it.

Please let me know in your responses what kind of experience you have in HTML5 (link to an example), what your thoughts are on the above, and how long you would expect this project to be delivered.
