Design of a logo for an IT based business

Project is the design of a logo for a small start-up information technology/software design business, 'Journeyman Systems'. I envisage that this logo would include concepts relating to both information technology, and the idea of a 'journey', although I am also willing to look at well done designs which do not include these concepts.
Final logo design will need to be in a vector graphics format to allow resizing, and should be provided in a low-detail version for low resolution display, as well as a high-detail version for large scale high resolution printing.
Final logo design needs to be clearly visible against both light and dark backgrounds - or alternatively recoloured for display against each background type, without losing logo impact or integrity.
The selected designer must guarantee that any designs provided are unique, and that they own all rights to these designs. They must also agree that in return for payment of the accepted bid amount they will transfer all rights/copyrights/privileges for such designs to me.
