I offer a unique photography tour that involves people discovering the inner city of Perth and learning how to take street photography at the same time.
It's a combination of tourism tour and adventure - it's NOT a photography course even though the adventure uses a camera. We will be offering those services but it's not our flagship brand. It's more task orientated and teams hit the streets with tasks to explore so there is a sense of adventure. It's not to be targeted specifically towards people interested in photography but all people with a camera; the goal is to get people interacting with these new spaces and discovering them from the viewpoint of the artist within. In all fairness, it is about street photography not tourism so we need it to have that sleekness and edge.
Bit of background - Perth has a reputation for being a boring retirement village but they are really trying to change this image. Whilst it's not a gritty haven just yet, there's been some recent development in terms of street art and unique spaces and it's urban edge is certainly growing.
The tagline on the poster/website is 'an urban photo experience'
Ideas I've played with were originally some sort of Charlie's angel logo where three photographer silhouettes are posing taking pictures and Shoot Perth is written stylishly. Reason being, there's three owners and I thought it represented our brand and energy and that sense of adventure, fun and investigative without it being too much about photography or indicating people using the brand would need some technical ability and be put off. Sadly my team weren't able to come up with anything sophisticated so we dropped the idea.
Also, we've recently developed a poster campaign which is of a female photographers silhouette taking a photo and her body is made up of some of the more recognisable shots we've taken of the inner city with the tag line, 'discover YOUR inner city' - meaning the art is actually inside her waiting to come out.
I guess the Charlies Angel idea kind of cheapens this quite artistic poster - so we need a logo that matches that campaign, perhaps something as simple as SP or Shoot Perth written in an urban stylish font that can ultimately go on all of our branding.
Our website is up - [url removed, login to view] - it's still in it's foetal stages, but you can see where the logo needs to go and what we currently have in there doesn't work simple as that.
Ultimately, I would like SHOOT to be the main brand and eventually, Perth can be changed to Melbourne, Sydney as in time the business should HOPEFULLY expand.
Ideally with the words ShootPerth I like that there are 5 letters in each word; I also like that S and P are also on the camera dial, but more than anything it has to suggest urban, slick and stylish - ideally representing all that is urban, street and photography without being too cliche.
I'd love to see a small variety of options and get to choose - so I'd love to see someone that grasps the concept of what I am doing and make sure it encompasses all the various facets.
