The “Electronic Check-up” is aimed to be developed as an application that will enable the users to monitor their health status constantly. The E-Check-up is proposed as an electronic information system which is to be implemented in the health care industry in order to create an effective health screening technology. The technology intended to cover the screening, supervision and monitoring the user’s health via a centralised system or through participating medical institutions. This means that the users will be able to access operative functionalities of the application and perform the check-up using the application. The application provides operatives functions which are done conventionally through an easy, time and cost saving as well as secured access. Through E-check-up, users will be able to identify symptoms in just fingertips by following certain acquired procedures. This means that the users will be able to test their blood pressure level, the diabetic reading and so on. This application does not replace the conventionally method but rather to complement it. There will be a constant update on the user’s record that will be monitored by their perspective doctor. The system is very flexible where it can be accessed anywhere and anytime provided the device used (PDA’s, Smartphones, and Handheld devices) have certain functionality requirement.
The functions to be developed will be based on all the procedures (check-up) being done at the hospitals, medical centres and clinics. In this day and age, the Information Technology interventions have opened a gateway that have enabled and improved the access to portable applications. Thus, the similar method is adapted in developing the E-check-up. The concept behind this application is the integration and combination of several technologies to produce a single platform application with numerous functions. For example, the following is used as a concept to develop the application;
