Project Description

iPad iOS 5 App Developer needed for a magazine app

Must be able to perform the following:

1. iPad App Experience
[Render articles using a hybrid web view and native controls and overlays to make it look right]

2. Support Newstand
Apple’s Newstand functionality in iOS 5

3. Text Should Be Selectable
Unknown words - iOS 5 has a built-in dictionary that pops up whenever you select a word and tap “Define”. Sharing - by highlighting a paragraph and sharing it and a link to the article via email.

4. Interactive Photos
Tap to bring up a larger version of a picture in any article, with captions like in facebook & twitter. If multiple photos are in an article, be able to swipe through them with captions still.

5. Multimedia
Embed multimedia content like audio and video. The RIGHT way;
The Verge for example offers great written reviews but also short video reviews.

No youtube or external links to the video, it should pop up in the app when you tap on it. It should offer what the written article doesn't have or go behind the scenes with the author or a follow-up.

Support of AirPlay also

6. Sharing is Caring
Make it easy for the reader to share via email, facebook & twitter.
It's a way to market our mag also.
iOS 5 framework has built-in twitter support with a perfect user interface.

7. Subscription Function
Supporting the new subscription functionality in iOS is imperative. No having to leave itunes and go to another site in order to fill out more info.

8. User Experience
Like Flipboard, they know how to create a great user experience that even high-class mags can't do
