Chicken & Egg – The hardboiled Private Investigation Duo
Front cover page wanted, Introducing: [Could have Egg-Bert saying, “The name’s Bert, Egg-Bert,” with Chicken looking physically imposing behind him] or really any visual that you thinks appropriate and makes the viewer instantly recognize the pastiche/homage to those Hollywood P.I.’s, tough but with a laconic sense of humour. The target audience is Adult/Young Adult.
Egg is an egg but no ordinary egg; he is a cynical, tough, hard bitten, Private Investigator in the mould of the 1940’s Hollywood stars/tough guys, Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney, and the fictional PI’s of that time, Sam Spade & Philip Marlowe by writers such as Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler. Egg, full name Egg-Bert moves in the noir atmosphere that can be seen in Roman Polanski’s Chinatown. Egg-Bert is a good egg; he’s tough but fair and is a snappy dresser with style. He has the back-up of his twin brother, well he believes him to be his twin brother, Chicken.
Chicken is a chicken originally from the farmyard but he’s the pick of the bunch. Physically imposing, he’s a bodybuilder, and is well versed in the martial arts of Boxing, Judo and bottom Kung-Fu, (Chicken hits people with his bum as well as his fists). He has absolute loyalty to Egg-Bert, whom he also believes is his twin brother. He’s a keen strength athlete and dresses mostly in gym gear, ready for that next workout.
