Overview:
20 minute long 2D Animation with layered raster graphics. Our target audience is 10-12 year old girls who come from a Sikh background. The story is from Sikh history: the story of Mai Bhago. She is a warrior princess who bravely fought against oppression in the 1700's.
Art Style:
We want sophisticated cartoon art that uses realistic proportions (not caricature). We want to show the beauty of rural India in the 18th century. Here is an example of the art quality for the background: [login to view URL]
The artist will need to be comfortable drawing imagery of the traditional Sikh dress, Sikh Gurus, rural villages, Moghul soldiers, horses, and Indian weapons.
We anticipate the story would include approximately 30 slides. Each slide will consist of background art and characters in different layers. Some backgrounds will be simple and others will be more elaborate. We will require all art in layered Photoshop files. The number of slides is subject to change once the storyboard is complete. We are only looking for art. Animation and audio production will be done in-house.
Timeline:
We plan to finish the storyboard by the end of May. We will ask the artist for concept art. After we approve the concept art, we can move into full production. We would like to receive 5-10 slides per week until the project is finished. We can negotiate how to deal with art that needs to be redone, or additional art that we may ask for.
This project will require a coordinated effort. It is important that the artist is detailed in his or her communication, as well as responsive. We would like the artist to be available for Skype communication at some point between 9am to 5pm MST on a regular basis.
Hi
Sounds like a great project, I have vast experience with cartoon illustration
Please take a look at my portfolio to see my similar work.
A little bit about me:
I work to high standards and have a passion for design.
I don't design anything that I wouldn't use myself, and that's a big difference from most of the other bidders.
Any questions feel free to ask.
Thanks
Paul
