Project Description

Character Design for animated, children's cartoon. Audience is 3-5 year old children. Character must be cute, in accordance with Disney's standard (big eyes, small mouth, baby proportions, etc. - e.g. [url removed, login to view]), but must be an original work, and must be created with animation in mind (capable of solid posing and prop/character interaction). The character must be appealing, as well, in the 12 Principles of Animation sense of the word.

The Character, "William" is full of optimism, with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He humbly applies the scientific method (observe, measure, experiment) to understand his world. He truly wants to help others understand the world, as well. The world probably sees him as a total nerd, but he's far too awesome to be burdened with that label. He's computer savvy, he's into electronics and robotics, he's an accomplished chemist (I know, I know... it's a cartoon), he's probably been to space, he's likely working on a time machine. He is a smart little dude!

The deliverable for this contract is a 2D character design (on "paper", as opposed to a 3D or vector "Flash" model), complete with structural layout (proportions), character turnaround, pose sheet, and color palette. I expect to provide some feedback and receive some iteration on the design, within reason.

Upon approval and payment, this original character design and all future derivations and associated ancillary products (animated episodes, books, action figures featuring the character) will be 100% owned by the customer, into perpetuity. Designer (you) passes all rights and ownership of the design to customer (me) at the conclusion of the contract.
