Project Description

I need an illustration to add some personality to a product information page I'm creating.

The Product

The illustration is for a drag and drop page builder plugin for WordPress. The plugin allows users to create advanced page layouts by dragging widgets into a page grid.

The Illustration

I'd like an illustration that plays with the idea of creating pages using building blocks. I envision an illustration of a construction scene where entire buildings are being lowered, pulled and dragged into their foundations. Each building should represent a specific widget. For example, the gallery widget might be represented by an art gallery building. The newsletter signup widget might be represented by a post office, etc.

The illustration should have 4-5 buildings, as well as some extra doodads like a construction crane, dirt piles, construction workers, etc.

The illustration shouldn't be more than 1200x600 pixels big. It also needs to work on a light grey background.

You're free to use what ever tools or method you like to create the illustration, provided you match the style we're after.

I'm looking for a very fun, playful style. The illustration does need to communicate the basic concept of the page builder, but its primary aim is to communicate our brand. I like the style of several isometric images (given below in inspiration section), but the image doesn't need to be strictly isometric.

* Simple Geo icon by SoftFacade

* Where's Wally - although these have a lot more detail than I'd want.

Just do a Google Image search for "where's wally"

* Isometric Elements

* 3D Map

Additional Information

I'll try provide additional information based on the questions I receive. I'll also create some basic concept sketches and try find more inspiration images. For now I'd just like to find out if this project is viable with my budget.
