One of my Clients has asked me to review a small group of their on-line commerce sites and report on SEO options that would contribute to their shops improving their search rankings.
I would like to develop a Proposal for this project.
All the sites sell the same category of product - PRINTER INK, PRINTER TONER, PRINTERS, PRINTER ACCESSORIES. The sites operate only in Australia and the Client does not want activity outside that country.
You can go to any search engine, in almost any western country, and look for ink and toner and you will typical results and typical rankings - there is nothing special about the search result that a buyer sees.
The client wants a way to appear high in the results, for each shop and Brand of product in this ink-toner category.
The client has built the sites so that each shop site represents only one Brand of ink or toner - LEXMARK or BROTHER or FUJI-XEROX or SAMSUNG. Later this year, there will be new sites added to the group, for the Brands for CANON and HP.
The Competitor sites put all the Brands and products into one large e-commerce site, with shared shopping cart and payment gateway.
The Client prefers to use separate shops for each Brand.
A master top-domain is common to all shops, and each folder under that is a separate OSCommerce V2.3 package, with independent database, domain name redirect, mobile template, payment gateway, shopping cart. All shops use the OSCommerce SEO URL add-on. The domain looks like [url removed, login to view]
Because we are just completing set-up, many pages are still to be populated, so there is room to add additional articles in each shop, with helpful keyword phrases.
Each of the shops is linked to price comparison engines, so datafeed urls and site maps are available.
I want to set goals and timetables for an SEO process and come up with a set of tasks and budgets and project milestones that the Client can comprehend and approve.
