Project Description

I have designed and prototyped a race car to pit wall transmitter. Data is read from the vehicle's on board electronic systems and converted to a more suitable data structure (data structure can be modified if necessary). The data is then transmitted via a Digi Xstream RF modem pair. The receiving modem interfaces to the users PC via USB. Drivers are provided by Digi. I need an application written in either C++ or Java to read from the USB stream and display the data on screen. The user must be able to select what data he/she wants displayed. The RF modem connection is completely transparent and no negotiation is required between the host PC and the transmitting device (data is broadcast continuously while the vehicle is operating).

The application must be packaged in an installer including relevant drivers and user documentation for Windows Vista and 7.
