Project Description

Copy, modify and insert a specific set of existing open source (java methods, from an existing open source (Apache 2.0 license) java library, into a RESTful API hosted on my server.

These java methods are currently configured to function as RESTful services through another existing API (hosted on the original developer's server) that interact and feed data to a java web application (hosted on the original developer's server). The methods need to be modified so that they can be added to my API which is based in a LAMP. The methods will need to fetch data housed on my server, which are configured the same as the data on the original source server. The data are housed in a java (object) data bundle (supports HSQLDB). My server has a java client server installed running Tomcat 5.5, which is the same server client used for the original source code. The data will support a web application on my server (php).

All the source-code for the various modules, libraries, and application are hosted in a number of Git repositories belonging to the source organization on GitHub. The following technologies for development and project management were sued on the original code:

• GitHub and Git for source-code versioning.

• Apache Maven for managing the build.

• Eclipse for working with code. You are of course free to edit code any which way you like, but much of the documentation will be geared towards Eclipse.

Again, you will be working on existing open source code (Apache 2.0 license), which you need to modify and apply to my server environment. The revised JAVA methods will be called from PHP.

I will provide detailed documentation upon further dialog.
