Project Description

Hello FreeLancers!

I had an idea for an app last summer and since then I and a friend of mine have been developing it and the necessary server code to get it running. We are both college students and thought we could work on it through the school year but academic work has taken priority and has put this project on the back-burner. But I'd like to get it completed and out there on the market as soon as we can, so I'm looking for help: someone with the knowledge and time to push the app through to the end.

I'm a little hesitant to describe the app in complete detail here, but in general terms it is a location-based social networking facilitator. Novel idea, right? No, but we definitely think the app has potential to garner a large user base and that it fills a definite need.

We have a decent part of the work done, I would say the project is 3/5 complete. The application runs and has some basic functionality and can talk with the server (the server code is in Java). The entirety of the code is on the server and could be pulled (via Git) by anyone as soon as they had access. The ideal bidder would be someone who has worked on one or several Android apps in the past; hopefully with experience working with the Google Map APIs in Android; but most importantly with knowledge of the structure necessary between an Android app and a server in order for the app to have efficient access to a large pool of data. I have the plans for what the app should do -- i.e., its features and design -- so what needs to be done is all set out and clear for whomever is ready to work on this project and push it through to the end, the completion of which will earn that person their cash.

Please don't hesitate to ask me for clarifications or elaborations on any of the things I have mentioned here.

Happy bidding!

-Andrew.

I've attached two screenshots of the app being simulated.
