Project Description

This project is to determine and see working, various bits of functionality using a GIS/mapping infrastructure. This is to mark points on a map, show various types of overlays on the map, be able to draw shapes and lines on the map and then measure various distances on the map between a point and various of the overlays, lines and shapes. At the same time I need to get an understanding of the type of functionality available in these types of GIS platforms. I'm that if someone has done something similar to this then this wont be much work.

This can be done using Google or Bing maps and I’m not particular on java or .NET technology for now. This should be hosted on a server of your choosing – I just need to be able to access it at any time of the day or year.

This is a proof of concept and doesn’t have to be able to go into a live environment but I do need to be able to demonstrate all the functionality listed below. To complete this project I need all the functionality described to be provided. Getting 90% of the way on this doesn’t help me – I need to be able to see that all of this can be done.

Please see the document attached for a more detailed specification of what is required and contact me if you have any questions.

I will want to talk/Skype with anyone who is interested and seems to have the necessary skills before the project gets awarded. Any reference to previous work that is similar to this will be of benefit.
