Project Description

Candidate Overview:

We are looking to hire a front end developer who can convert the Illustrator CS5 files attached into a functioning webpage using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and JQGrid (JQuery Grid Plug-in).

Once this webpage is complete, we would like to continue to work with the developer in developing the rest of the website. We are looking for code of a very high standard though and will only award ongoing work to those that meet the criteria outlined below.

We would prefer to develop a relationship with one or two very good front end developers on freelancer. This project is also available to teams and/or companies, however, we would like continuity with those developers on future projects and be able to deal with a single point of contact, where possible.

We will be looking to have future projects quoted at fixed cost rates, but there will also be an opportunity for work charged at an hourly rate. All future work will be performed under confidentiality.

We are looking for someone who has excellent skills in the languages and frameworks mentioned above, has an extremely keen eye for detail and can marry up design and webpage layouts with near pixel perfect precision (within the constraints of the technologies used).

Project Overview:

The project is for a single webpage only. However, it must function according to the requirements below.

Browser Compatibility:

The browser compatibility required for this webpage is as follows for both PC and Mac where applicable:

Firefox 3.6+

Internet Explorer 7+

Safari 5+

Chrome 14+

Target Screen Resolution:

1280 x 720

Screen Resizing:

The left hand side accordion menu should be fixed width and left aligned (with suitable margins in place according to design).

The main viewing panel of the screen (it contains the panel title Purchase Requisition) should occupy all available real-estate to the right of the accordion menu and this section should contract and expand during resizing.

The columns in the data grid should also adjust in width (except the column containing icons)

The paging widget and four buttons (Cancel, Decline, Approve, Envelope) should remain anchored to the bottom of the screen when resizing. The grid should shrink or expand in hieght instead to fill and available realestate.

Animation/Roll Over's Required:

Roll-over states are shown in the illustrator file attached titled [url removed, login to view]

Header Panel:

The dark grey header form should slide open and close when the user clicks the arrow icon, which resides in the top left corner of the data grid, next to the title "Purchase Requisition 1234567". The arrow should toggle up and down based on the panel state. The arrow should be up when the panel is shown and it should be down when the panel is hidden.

Data Grid

Please implement the data grid using the jqGrid plugin. This is the standard data grid plugin we wish to use accross the site. No backend work will be required from the front ender, but this is mandatory to allow the back end developers to take the design and inject dynmamic data.

Split Buttons:

Split Buttons enable multiple actions to be activated from each button. The options are shown by clicking the arrow icon on the right of each button.

+/- Icons:

Clicking the (+) icon in the design will take the contents of the row it sits next to and add it as a row in the data grid directly below it.

Clicking the (-) icon will delete that row from the data grid.

Date Picker

jquery-ui date picker is sufficient for this implementation.

Accordion Menu:

Logout: This panel should not expand and expose sub-levels like the panels above. It is a special case

Font: The ai file is likely to contain a missing font. Please use Arial in its place.

Output Required:

A static HTML page with folders separating all image, CSS and JavaScript assets based on the brief above and the design outlined in [url removed, login to view] & [url removed, login to view]
