Project Description

We are changing the way that people browse the internet. We see a disconnect between the content, images and videos that users experiences on web pages and their ability to share their insights, knowledge, and reactions with others. Our small, but world class team, is composed of engineers from MIT, Caltech and Princeton as well as some of the most published data scientists from RIT and Stanford.

We're looking for someone who has taken ownership of front-end code and knows exactly how to design, architect and build scalable single page applications from the ground up. We will not restrict what frameworks you plan to use but in return, we expect you'll bring experience of building, managing and optimizing large scale applications.

You must be a front-end expert: someone who lives in JavaScript, with rock-solid HTML and CSS skills too. You will need to have extensive experience in building single page applications as we are building a fully functional social networking web app. You must be familiar with social networking components such as friending models, chat functionality and profile creation. You also must be familiar with working with libraries such as [url removed, login to view] on the client side (as our backend is built out in [url removed, login to view]) as well as plain asynchronous AJAX requests to our backend API. Because this is the first prototype, you will have a large amount of freedom to decide on exactly how you wish to build out the application. You will work closely with our full-time designer to insure the product stays closely aligned to our company mission and brand.

Primary Duties:

• Work together with our back-end engineers/API to develop an elegant, easy to use UI for our platform

• Create front-end designs using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript following industry's best-practices

• Work with our strategy team and engineers to ensure final product reflects the proposed design

The hourly wage for this project will depend on your skill and experience.
