Project Description

I need a highly experienced Javascript & jQuery developer that knows what he’s doing when it comes to scripting to do some of the troubleshooting and fixing of my static website ([url removed, login to view]) before we officially go live. The previous developer that worked on this website messed up the Javascript and jQuery code to the point where the website crashes on a regular basis.

Basically, I need a developer to do the following:

A. Troubleshoot some of Javascript and jQuery code for this static website (no database interaction). For example, here’s what I need help with: randomly selecting a background image, smooth mouseover image swapping, and a sliding bottom footer bug on one page. When done, the website should not have any Javascript and jQuery errors in either IE, FireFox, and Chrome.

B. Change a footer section that appears on almost all of the pages on the website so that it includes the company phone number. Once it’s done on one page, you can then do a search and replace on all the other pages to make this change universal. Or you can code an include file if you’d like.

C. Write the necessary javascript code so that the copyright year value automatically changes based on what year it actually is. That way when 2014 comes around, the code should automatically update the copyright year to 2014 without any human intervention at all.

D. After all the Javascript and jQuery code has been fixed and optimized, then I need this website ([url removed, login to view]) and a supporting website ([url removed, login to view]) moved from a Windows Server to a Linux based server. But only after steps “A” – “C” are complete.

E. Optimize the website and the web server on Linux so that it downloads the website pages as fast as possible. In other words, this is a static website with CSS – and as such, I want to make sure that the pages are downloaded right away without any delay whatsoever. Performance is extremely important here – after all, that’s one reason why I want to move this website from a Windows Server to a Linux Server.

And, that’s it.

If this sounds like something you can do, then I want to hear from you… thanks for looking and happy bidding.
