Project Description

Project Description:

Converting the user interface of our existing web application to a brand-new design.
You can see the running version of our application at [url removed, login to view] (username\password: admin\admin). It is implemented with ASPX/HTML/CSS/JS technology.

We’d like to do a major facelift to its user interface. Check out the following links for our desired design:

[url removed, login to view]
Actual designs will be provided to you in Photoshop PSD format.

Skills needed:
-Strong understanding of web design in HTML/CSS
-Background in ASPX programming model
-Good grasp of JavaScript (especially JQuery)
-Experience in using Adobe Photoshop

Requirements and success criteria:

Successful completion of the project will be based on meeting the following requirements by the end of the project:

-All pages of the current application adopting the new UI design. You’ll be provided 2 example pages as guidance: [url removed, login to view] and OfisimCompanyDetails.jpeg. The rest of the pages are less complex and we’re looking for the application of similar UI paradigms to the rest of the pages in the application.

-Creating a new [url removed, login to view] as the landing page. See the reference design at [url removed, login to view]
-Using advanced HTML, CSS and JS methods to maximize code re-use across pages.
-Converting the elements in PSD design files to proper image files to use in the pages.
-Implementing certain common effects (such as gradients) and UI elements (such as lines and tables) with HTML/JS as much as possible. The goal here is to reduce dependency to large image files.
-Providing “mouse hover over” effects for buttons that blends well with the target design.
-Providing a web 2.0 like modal dialog on top of the existing page for displaying help information. See that current “help for this page” link opens up another browser window. Instead, we’d like to see a nice window popping up on the existing window and graying out the background. This can be achieved using JQuery.

Logistics:

-In order to be accepted for the project we’d like to see your reference work as a proof that you can indeed deliver great results. We have a deadline to meet and we can not accept mediocre work.
-Upon acceptance, you’ll be provided the following files:
-Download location of our complete application.
-Instructions on how to setup it up locally.
-Actual Photoshop PSD files of the new design.
-We’ll ask you to setup the application in your own environment and start making the changes as described above.

-You’ll also temporarily host the application (either in your own development environment or somewhere else) so that we can review the changes you make and provide feedback along the way. We’ll both review the design, as well as the code changes you make.
