Project Description

Hi people... basically i need a website to be designed by hand from scratch without any programs used like free website builders and to be clearly hand written.

IT needs to be separated into css/html and css separately. Please let me know of the costs and asap!

Your task is to create a website for a singer. The web site will act as her portfolio - it is a showcase. This will be an actual real-life project working with a client's data. You will be provided with the content (i.e. text, images, audio and video). Everyone will use the same content, although you are free to add stock images/images of your own making (provided they do not breach copyright). Here's an example of the sort of website you might create (note: DO NOT copy or use any code from this website, it's just given as an example of the style of web site that the client likes).

The client, Lucia Pupilli, has said:

"I'd like the website to include something like a home page/profile/Listen to me/photo gallery and video/Repertoire/contacts, I imagine a bar at the top of the page with these to click on. The main home page I imagine with a photo of me and sort of jazzy (but classy), perhaps using black and red colours maybe with some star sparkles...a picture of a piano,or a red rose or a 1950's style microphone...I'm just thinking out loud really but you get the sort of idea. I want it to be a bit glitzy but not tacky. I sing a lot of 1950's stuff and cabaret/musical theatre so we could go for that kind of theme. I also have an Italian repertoire..."

You are not limited to the client's ideas. You are free to design your own theme, bearing in mind the client's style of music and the type of image she portrays.

The content in the content folder is as follows:

• [url removed, login to view] - text for the web site
• [url removed, login to view] - a link to a video that should be included on the web site

• [url removed, login to view] - audio file
• [url removed, login to view] - audio file
• [url removed, login to view] - audio file
• [url removed, login to view] - audio file
• [url removed, login to view] - audio file
• [url removed, login to view] - audio file
• [url removed, login to view] - audio file

• [url removed, login to view] - photo
• [url removed, login to view] - photo
• [url removed, login to view] - photo
• [url removed, login to view] - photo

The techniques you are expected to use are as follows:

rotating GIF banner
self-made JavaScript slideshow
clear distinction between menu bar and content area
Desktop version and Mobile version using CSS3 media queries
Desktop version needs to looks good in IE8 and IE9, as well as Firefox and Chrome
no layout tags like
semantically correct
clean markup, accessible
embedded HTML5 video
good, matching colour scheme
correct use of HTML 5 tags like , , etc

Bonus points - you can gain extra marks by including these techniques (most of which will be covered in lectures 8 and 9):

relative sizes (em and % instead of px)
fluid layouts (> % used for w and h of block elements)
a third CSS query size for vertical tablet layouts
special mobile version features like bigger buttons and bigger text
CSS animations/transitions for rollover effects and for the slideshow transitions
Rollover effects
useful jQuery or JavaScript effects (like popping in social media bar)
good use of background images
@font-face Web font usage (like from [url removed, login to view])
use of pure CSS for gradients, shadows, buttons etc etc with graphic fallback for IE8
get HTML5 tags to work in IE8
latest twitter feed displayed (via JS Twitter API)
clean grid-base layout like on [url removed, login to view]
website centred in page, but text etc left-aligned within it
separate CSS and JS files
reasonable imgae sizes and compression
jquery UI
sencha Touch
conversion of website into App using PhoneGap or similar
minified JavaScript and CSS
