Project Description

I am scoping a project requested by a client I do some occasional work for to make some changes to their home page. The client is a finance business called Cashel House Group.
I have been asked by Cashel if it is possible to put some live feeds of the ASX (Australian Securities Exchange) into a home page of their website. This is their website link below

I am hoping to get some help to add some new parts to their website and I am not sure about how to go about making these changes.
They would like the following to appear;
• ASX market watch
• Top5 trading companies list
• Prices search – search field to find a company stock, give value and trades of stock
I have sent an email to the ASX from their ‘contact us’ section of their website and I have a response below

“Please be advised that in order to extract any data from the ASX website you will need to refer to the Terms of use – “Linking to the Site” section for what can and cannot be done by external parties.”

I have looked at a few online newspapers and news channels as they feature market news and events and I am interested to know how they do this.
The Age (well know Melbourne newspaper) stock feed looks like a screen capture is taken every few minutes and java script places an updated jpg image into i-frame. This is what I found when I went to ‘Inspect Element’ in Chrome. I am not sure if it is a java script that The Age home index scriptable screen_capture_injected

The age stock feed on the main page of the Age website has BigCharts logo ([url removed, login to view]) on the stock image. Not sure if they can provide feed. I think this comes from the Market Watch website ([url removed, login to view])
I have also found several leads online about finance feeds into websites but am not sure which will give me the best result or the actual data requested by my client.

I have a link below to the ASX website which displays the requested data information.

I have attached a rough layout of the website and how I would add in the market news feeds.
Can you firstly let me know if this is possible. Secondly what would be involved in doing this and the costs associated with it.
At this stage I am scoping the project for them to let them know what would be involved with doing something like this.
Your help with this would be greatly appreciated.
