Integrate a Google spreadsheet as a CMS via existing Javascript Framework

I want to use a Google spreadsheet as a basic CMS for a site I have designed. I have found this to be possible using [url removed, login to view] to and a framework such as [url removed, login to view] or handlebars.js. I deal with front-end and design and need someone to help make the data behave.

This includes:

1. Split the results (29 entries for example) into 2 columns at the 50% mark, i.e. 15 in the left and 14 in the right .

2. Select only the most recent (or first) row in the spreadsheet to display using an ID

3. Using an ID, show a few columns of a row on the page and the all of the columns of that row on a modal popover.
