I need to get a start screen specific game parsed. There is a specific list of about 100 words you need to recognize. Only those words provided are too be recognized. They are written in one column below each other. Any other words can be ignored. The image will be a picture from a monitor taken by an iPhone. An existing OCR engine like tesseract can be used as long as it's free for commercial and non-commercial use and can be used on Windows and later directly on iPhone.
1) The list of words needs to be configurable as new words might get added over time.
2) One word is highlighted in a different colour. This needs to be recognized.
3) The app needs to be tested with an iPhone. It needs to tell the user when the picture is ok as it has recognized the words (so scan in background and when words are ok give ok to user)
Use example picture for testing. Recognize the columns KV-1S to AMX 40 and KV-1S to SU-85b. It needs to recognize the different colour for the word Hellcat in left column. Note the highlighted word is always in left column.
I'll provide list of all words on project start. Payment only on succesful testing with recognition rate of 99% of words. I'll do testing with iPhone 4S. Application needs to be able to be installed.
Technology: Needs to run on iPhone. If possible a jQuery Mobile App that gets the OCR data. The app itself can be pretty basic as long as there is a button to start scanning picture and confirmation popup "scan done - names recognized". Names than displayed as text list.
