Project Description

A FloorLayout is rendered in SVG vector images and manipulated through Javascript DOM manipulation. Sensors are then plotted on the FloorLayout, using Javascript drag and drop feature, to indicate desks locations. Each sensor has a unique IP address, a sensor type, x and y coordinates set against it upon mouse drop. Currently the data is saved in the HTML5 localstorage object.

Work to be done :

I need the local storage to be persisted into a back end database and a few extra field added to the object. I already have the framework in place to do that. An MVC action is called from the front end and the object is passed as parameter.

Similarly when loading the Floor Layout or refreshing it needs to pull data from the back end and the localstorage container and plot back using the coordinates.

This application works off two databases. One installed locally and one is set in a remote data Warehouse.

Entity Framework is used to manage both databases. I will explain more how the application works and why the need to have set of data in two different locations.

Once a sensor is dropped, currently a new ID is attached to that sensor. This needs to change. The system needs to do a lookup first of that IP address in the datawarehouse and either use the same SensorID or Create a new sensorID
