Recently, I sold my company for SGD 400,000 to company AA in Singapore. 17% of shares were transferred after a payment of SGD 76,000 is made. The transfer of shares are done by buyer’s company secretary and the agreement was made in front of their lawyers too. After a few months, police arrested some people from AA. It came to know they had been raising funds by scams. The SGD 76,000 is from the scam too. Police wants my company to return the SGD 76,000 to the authorities. I have already invested my funds in another company of mine. They want my company to disassociate with AA. Do I have to return the SGD 76,000?
