I’m looking for a script that will populate the content field in a Wordpress database with information from a separate table.
There will be a large number of Wordpress blogs each with hundreds of records so the script will have to be very efficient. The plan is to run the script at regular intervals using a cron process on the server.
The Wordpress database will have the default configuration but I would like to then add an additional field to it that is a flag to show the content has been updated.
The source database has content in a BLOB format so it would have to be uncompressed then appended to the content in the Wordpress database. Within that content I will also want to attach an extra text string. (essentially I want to concatenate Wordpress content, static text string, incoming BLOB content) There will be two IDs that are referenced (blog ID and post ID) to match the selections. Also a check will need to be done where if the BLOB field is empty the process will skip over that record.
Once this process has completed then the flag will be set to show that content has been updated and when the script runs again it will not repopulate the content.
I’ve already created some MYSQL statements to do this process but don’t know how to automate it across all of the blogs and records which is why I need your help.
If interested please bid. If any questions feel free to ask.
