Skills: AWS Linux EC2 WordPress CSS
o Must have good english
o Must be able to work in US West Coast (PST) time zone
o Must have good feedback in [url removed, login to view] for a substantial number of projects
o Must have the ability to log into a Microsoft Live Meeting, which basically means you need a windows machine - it doesn't seem to work on Mac.
This project will be one initial work session (hackathon) of 5 hours to help me, via webmeeting, set up and slightly customize a default WordPress site on AWS Linux. There may be more work coming your way afterwards to add on more functionality if the first session goes well.
I am a highly technical guy, a quick study, I know exactly what I am looking for in terms of the layout, I just don't have much experience with WordPress/CSS. I need an experienced person with the ability to explain themselves clearly. I will need to know how to edit the CSS files to change the spatial arrangement of particular objects. The pages will need a similar look and feel so a master style sheet will be important but individual pages may need their own customizations too. I will want to lock down the security as much as it can be locked down. The website consists of 3 or 4 pages only. This is almost a training assignment, the idea is *not* that you do it yourself, you talk me through doing it on a webmeeting.
More about my background: I'm *very* techie, quick study, quick typist, lots of deep IT experience, I'm very familiar with Oracle databases and Storage Area Networks, very familiar with command-line tools and operating systems, and with UNIX and unix editors (vi etc) but I'm not very familiar with Linux, almost no experience with CSS although I understand the principles and what you can do with it.
I have used AWS a little - I already have an AWS account, can create EC2 instances etc, and have paid for 1 month of 24 hr Amazon phone support (it works well, I've already tried it) just in case we run into problems. You'll still get paid if we burn time on the phone to AWS support. If we get stuff described above done quick there are various other things we can do to use up the rest of the time but there will still be lots more work if this session goes well, this is just setting up the foundation for stuff to happen later.
Please, please do not bid if you haven't read the text above carefully. I do not want bids from someone who can't work in the PST time zone for example, or who wants to go off and create the site by themselves. The idea is to get me to the stage where I can manage and customize my own site (don't worry, I am a quick study as stated above). Also, I have a flexible schedule and I'm sure we can figure out a mutually agreeable time.
