Configuration of video drivers for virtualized Linux computer

On the virtualized Linux computer is need to configure video drivers in order to make X-window server working. The original computer has been backed up and installed in new virtual machine. Unfortunately original video drivers does not work anymore. The computer has pretty old kernel - 2.4.35. - Computer serve as a graphic terminal with two screens connected - The configuration of current X-window system resides in directory /etc/MMTconfig - Changes in configuration like recompiling kernel are not desired - No changes in version Required output is a detailed description what steps to follow in order to resolve problem. vmware image of mentioned computer will be made available on our ftp server
