I just went into my server via FTP and found unrecognized folders named "exploit" containing a file named "target".
This folder and file is in every folder from my website. The user owner is "root" and chmod 711.
I have a dedicated server using red hat 5 Linux and I have root access.
I need help telling me ehat is it?
How can I delete it from my server?
See if anything else has been installed?
And see how did it get there?
I need help telling me what is it?
Also, I need some security counseling

I need SSH root access into your dedicated server in order to install some investigation and rootkit removal tools. My task will consist on removal plus avoiding this to happen in the future.
Hi, my shop runs on Linux. In particular, I know of a lot of exploits on RHEL 5.x, especially with the 2.6 kernel line and its propensity for race conditions that lead to root compromises. More in your Inbox.
