Sample logo design *concept* for game, used to select best worker for final design project

I am working on a project to create a gaming platform (game engine, database, server clustering ...), which will be used later to create my own games. I need a logo for registering a trademark for the game platform. Later, I will need more logos, and other game/website graphics. Therefore, I am looking to establish a long lasting business relationship, rather than just a one-time job.

Since I don't think I can judge the best designer just by interviewing, I would like to create a contest, but I don't like the way vWorker asks for "speculative work" (<[url removed, login to view]>), so instead I will ask you to show me a sample of what you can do for a low price, and choose one of you for the final design based on the results. Like that, you just produce a sample, instead of a finished design, none of you have to work for nothing, I don't run the risk of hiring someone who's work I later don't like, and the "winner" still gets paid a reasonable amount for the final design. Since I only require the work for the purpose of evaluation, I have modified to "Legal protections" section accordingly. Feel free to use the work in your portfolio, or whatever.

## Deliverables

If you are interested, please submit the following information:

1. Portfolio URL(s) so I can see what you can do (remember that it's for game-related logos)

2. Tell me why I should choose you/your team (remember that I need more graphics beyond just logos).

3. Tell me how you prefer to go about the design process.

4. Tell me how much you would usually charge for a logo. I prefer per hour charges, but it's up to you. If you want to work per hour, then I need to know how much you want per hour, and how many hours you would usually need (to be able to compare with fix prices offers).

5. Tell me when I could expect to get the finished design, after I awarded you the project.

If I choose you (I want to choose at least 10 of you, to get a broader choice), you will have to submit one (or more if you want) design concept/sample, so I get a rough idea of what you propose. The concept should not only contain some sketch of the logo, but most importantly the "idea" behind the image.

Since I want to chose many of you, and award the final job to the one with the best sample(s) for the final design, I suggest you just accept the job for the maximum price ($20). I hope this will suffice for you to invest at least one or more hours to create some design/sample(s). I am mostly interested in seeing your idea, rather than your drawing skills, since the real design will be done in another project (and your portfolio *should* show your drawing skills).

The name of the game platform is "Block With Me". It will be used to create 3D games, using the same kind of technique as <[url removed, login to view]> (but hopefully with better graphics!) Since I am working "bottom-up", I cannot show you any game to help you in your design, nor would it make much sense, since each game could have quite a different look (theme, colors, atmosphere, ...). The meaning of "Block With Me" is that people can cooperate (if they want to), to build things in the game world. Since it's a gaming platform, rather than a game itself, the "target audience" not the "casual gamer" but more the "programming gamer" (or gaming programmer), in particular, the one that would like 3D games.

To help you further, I have searched the web for large logo galleries/collections, and looked at over 30,000 logos, to narrow down my taste. I have created two Pinterest boards with the logos I liked. The first one <[url removed, login to view]> contains my favorite logos, at least for the purpose of this job, and the second one <[url removed, login to view]> contains a much broader selection of logo I found in some my interesting.

This is a *should be* private auction, as I only want proven designers. Feel free to ask any questions, but vWorker won't let me invite worker from the category browser.
