At some point this week, our magento product import (through the admin interface has stopped working). We need to figure out why, fix it and create a method for identifying and fixing it in the future. This has happened before, but knowing how buggy magento is, it is likely to happen again, so we need a workflow to be able to fix it in the future
We import products using the admin interface. The import looks like it completes successfully, but no products appear in the product manager and no changes to the actual SQL tables are made. If we use a Dataflow profile, the import complains about missing value from column 'type' even though the value is present.
Manual creation of the product still works. We do not know much beyond this.
You should be familiar with the Magento debugging processes, PHP and MySQL.
SSH, MySQL and FTP access will be provided as soon as you are selected for the project. Sample import files will be provided upon request.
Preference will be given to freelancers who have solved this exact issue before.
