Last year programmer dannv ([url removed, login to view]) made some changes regarding the Magento Index Management. As we have a big database with difference stores and many products, indexing took too long and was too heavy on the server. He had made it so, that upon every change in an item, only the indexes related to the change were indexed; the website became a lot faster, as indexes were always indexed. It worked perfect but at some time it did not work anymore.
Now this programmer does not want to help us in solving it, although I have been trying to have him fix it for the last 4-5 months. I have given up, so if anyone could fix this, so that it works again, please let me know.
If interested, it needs to be explained on how it works, so that other programmers can understand what has been changed and can fix it or work with it when installing new extensions. I do not want to get into the same situation again.
I attached two files he created. No idea if he created more files.
2. Server problems:
Maybe related or not to indexing but our server seems to have problems with the load, so some script might be wrong. I really need to have a quick fix for that. I guess you will have to look at the log files.
3. Monitoring the server:
I would like to have someone look during the month and solve the problems that may arrise and solve those problems. This must be the long term fix.
Also I want you to be available for future fixes, which will of course fall under a new project.
