I am a jewelry designer looking for freelance artisans with experience of beading and jewelry assembly.
Most of the designs in the current collection require the skills of stringing beads, attaching the strands to clasps and connectors via jump ring, crimp beads, and crimp bead covers, as well as French wire.
The freelancers must be able to produce very professional looking products. They should be able to hide beading wire with French wire and crimp beads with crimp bead covers for a neat finished product.
We provide a finished sample of each designs + all materials used. The artisan would have to copy the designs.
This might turn into a long-term collaboration as the artisans would be contacted on as needed basis to help us produce our jewelry.
We use semi-precious stones and none precious metals.
We will be needing the services starting in October 2013 and on the ongoing basis after that, depending on our orders. The artisans can work from home if they wish to.
We will ask that all qualified artisans meet with us in New York, we give them one of our prototypes and they make a copy of it for us to see their skill level and quality. We will pay for the samples.
Please let us know about your skills, experience in the field, your availability to work on assembling the pieces on a weekly basis (days out of the week, hours per day, etc.), and your availability in the fall.
We pay per piece, an average rate per piece is $15-25. Possibility of making multiple pieces per day, depending on our orders from retailers.
