The Tomato Bash
We are looking for an event planner that is good at marketing and can be the Executive Producer of two of our Tomato Bashes in August of 2013. See www.thetomatobash.com. The Tomato Bashes will happen in Boston and Washington DC. It is not imperative that the executive producer reside in either of these locations, however this would be beneficial. This is a work from home position.
We want to hire an independent contractor for $1,500 a month to set up, operate, market and produce all aspects of both events. This will require about four hours a day, five days a week and will begin in February and end in mid-August. We would like to share 20% of the profits with the contractor.
Every aspect of the event from marketing, registration, setup, clean up and tear down will be the responsibility of the Executive Producer.
Tasks of this job are:
- Locate and secure a venue
- Find a charity partner
- Market event, market event, market event
- Coordinate all aspects of event
- Source tomatoes, cleaning crews and volunteers
- Market event
- Locate and manage entertainment, police, medical squad
- Ascertain beer permits and follow all local legalities
- Order tents, fences, tables, signs
- Market event
- Run all social media campaigns
- Communicate regularly and effectively with home office
We know how to do all of the above tasks; we just need someone to do them with personality, gusto, flare and professionalism.
The ideal candidate for this position will have marketing/event management experience and a type “A” personality with a “Can Do!” attitude. Their personal mantras should be, “I don’t know how, but I will do it!” and “If there is a will, there’s a way!”
Knowledge of Social Media and Facebook are beneficial.
