I'm looking for a solution (Android app + suggestion for a cheap smartphone with 12MP+ camera) for taking a picture with a smartphone, controlled by an external electronic device. Whenever this device gives an input signal, the smartphone should take a photo. I want to take pictures without mechanical operation (pushing a button in order to make photo is not allowed). The input signal from the external device is 5 V carried by two wires. This input should be read in a non-mechanical way by the smartphone, e.g. using the mini-USB port. Whenever there is an input (5 V instead of 0 V), the app should take and store a photo. The smartphone should still be chargeable (if it needs the mini-USB port to charge, the charging pins of that port should be unused / unaffected).
The smartphone shouldn't be mechanically modified (e.g. drilling a hole or soldering wire to the panel is not allowed). One of the originally provided physical interface should be used (e.g. USB...). No remote controlling (via another phone) allowed, the control-signal comes from another external electronic device near the smartphone.
Requirement for the smartphone
- acquirable/orderable in Western-Europe
- resolution of the smartphone's camera at least 12MP+
- Android operating system
Nice to have:
- low smartphone price
I'm looking for getting an offer for:
- developing app for making photos controlled by an external device
- choosing a low-cost smartphone with at least 12 MP+ camera, able to run the app
