We are the authors of Clippo, an iOS app for recording animated GIFs with captions. You can find the current version of the app in the iTunes App Store here: [url removed, login to view]

We're looking to port the entire app to Android with all existing functionality. Please refer to the iOS app itself along with the notes below for more details on requirements. There may be future opportunities to keep building on the app as well. When submitting your bid, please also include any portfolio items of note.


• Integration with existing web service for authentication and RESTful operations

• Client side recording, captioning, and encoding into multiple formats (H264 mp4, GIF, PNG)

• Uploading to Amazon S3 with restarting of failed uploads/recordings made offline

• Recaptioning of existing GIFs (blank videos of each GIF are also uploaded)

• User profiles with user's videos, followers, followed people, likes

• Social integrations for sharing and inviting friends on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, email

• Push notifications when a user's GIF is liked or recaptioned, or user is followed

• Various feeds of GIFs, including: editor's pick, latest, friends

• Integration with crash tracking and analytics services: Crashlytics, Flurry, Mixpanel
